Author Bryan Alaspa announces release of horror short story collection "When the Night Comes Ou

Chicago horror author Bryan Alaspa announced on his website this week that 2018 will see the release of his latest collection of short horror stories called When the Night Comes Out. The collection of stories is four stories and a novella with a foreword by author Patrick C. Greene. The book will is already available for pre-order at Amazon for Kindle, but will also be available in print and an audiobook version is also in the works.

"I love short stories," Mr. Alaspa said from his Chicago office. "They challenge me and often the stories I write in short form are darker and more horrific than the novels. Something about condensing it all makes that happen. This batch of stories is probably my best collection yet, so I'm very excited about it."

The horror short stories vary in topic and length. One tells the story of a haunted U-boat. Another tells the tale of a game played on an elevator which opens up an alternate reality that can drive someone mad. Another story is about a small town that hides very big and horrific secrets. There's a short story about a young girl and her very big, very scary, best friend and the collection ends with the novella The Well, about a bottomless well that should best be kept closed.

When the Night Comes Out arrives October 23, 2018, the week before Halloween. The Kindle version is set at a special pre-order price of just 99 cents.
