So, What's Happened and What's to Come

Hello there! It has been a while since I spoke directly to you, the public, about what is going on with my own writing. I have been having a blast writing all of these other blog posts about horror, and movie and book reviews. I love doing that sort of stuff and you have all responded so nicely. However, a lot has happened in 2024, so I wanted to do a quick review of that, but there is also so much planned for 2025 and into 2026!

2024 - A Review

So, 2024 was a great year for me when it comes to my writing (not so great on the career front over the summer, but that is neither here nor there). I had my terrifying novel FERAL published by Unveiling Nightmares. For some reason, people really responded to this one and it has been great. It's an historical horror tale that started out based on The Donner Party and then became its own thing. It also won me my second BookFest Award this past October. I have also submitted it for consideration for a Stoker, but I am not holding my breath on that one.

October also saw the release of my psychological thriller Newcomers. A novel that I am very proud of and I think tells an insanely compelling story that will keep you on the edge of your seat and then pull the rug out from under you at the end. I am looking forward to reading your reviews of this one and I plan on submitting this one for some awards in 2025.

The good news is that for the next three novels that will be coming out over the next couple of years, continues my relationship with Unveiling Nightmares.

2025 - a Review

The first will arrive next Spring, sometimes near the end of April and it is called The Given. It's a novel I wrote a few years ago about a man who gets psychic images in is brain he thinks is connected to a young woman he and his first wife gave up for adoption years ago. It turns out she has become involved with a terrifying cult and now he has to use all of his skills to save her. Early readers have been very positive about this one, and it is a deeply personal story for me. Look for that one next year and this is the cover reveal here to the left.

I already have a novel ready to come next Halloween. That's right, for those of you who loved my cryptid/Kaiju novel DEVOURED, well, get ready for the sequel. Logan and Mike return and this time they're facing something terrifying in the Great Lakes. The title is The Witch of November, and you Gordon Lightfoot fans might know where that title came from. I can't wait for you to read it.

I just finished a novel tentatively entitled Cluster, that has to go through the Beta reader phase, but I plan on submitting that to Unveiling Nightmares, too, and that would be coming out in spring 2026! So, yeah, I have been busy.

Allie James and I have worked hard to bring you one long continuous story called The Hive on our podcast. It has been fun, but also sort of exhausting. Our plan is to return to the episodic, anthology style for a little bit in 2025. After that, we are going to see what we want to do next and maybe try another of my novels to adapt. Stay tuned for more from When the Night Comes Out.

Having just finished the novel Cluster, I am planning on taking a little break. Of course, that probably means a week or two before I dive into other things. The great news there, is I have several ideas for short stories and maybe a novella or two. I may just publish these on my own and many of those may be coming out in 2025. I will, of course, keep you updated.

So, there you go. That's what has happened in 2025, what is planned for 2025 and even into 2026. The content train is not stoppin' here on the blog, either.

Thanks for taking this journey with me. Check out my Amazon store, and leave a review if you have read one of my works.
