So Let's Look at 2023

Hey, it's 2023 and I normally try to keep these blogs broad and of general interest to readers and writers. However, since this is my home on the ol' World Wide Web, I thought I would take a moment to look ahead to 2023 and you can find out some things coming up.

First off, my novel DEVOURED was picked up by Wicked House Publishing. WHP was created by author Patrick Reuman and if you know his work you know that man is a work horse. He is passionate about writing and has been cranking out the goods all on his own for years now. The great thing is that he has learned how work the marketing systems so that all of his stuff become hits and now he has turned that power to helping guys like me find success.

Wicked House is an up and comer and if you don't know them now, you really should. The publishing house has put out several works already, with more on the horizon, and almost all of them have made it to the top of several key Amazon bestseller lists. I am fortunate to say that my novel will likely be available sometime around August. I could not be more thrilled.

I have front-loaded a couple of things for this year. First, comes my novelette The Top Floors. It's a tale of worker trapped at the top of a very tall building while, below them, a mysterious fog blankets the city. Anyone who heads below the line of the fog...vanishes. It's a psychological thriller and horror tale, just the right length for those of you with short attention spans. It publishes officially on February 14, but you can pre-order it now.

On March 13, you will be able to read my novella Ovule. For those of you who have been following me for some time now, you

may know my first venture into a horror fiction podcast was this tale. I have decided to take the scripts I worked with and put them together into a novella, which arrives later this year. It tells the tale of a bizarre lights in the sky that appear to be falling to earth. This is followed by strange flowers that bloom only for those to start turning people into a hive-mind group of creatures from outer space. You can pre-order this one for 99 cents, too.

We just finished the third season of When the Night Comes Out - the Podcast. Between seasons 2 and 3 Allie James and I did a season of something we called Jump Scares. Those were very short, bite-sized tales of horror. Season 4 is already written and will be produced later in the year. Allie and I are talking about maybe recording some shows featuring ourselves talking about horror and how we got to where we are to tide people over until fall - but we'll see. Be sure to listen, like, rate and review all of our seasons so far on your favorite podcast app.

I am currently writing a story I think might just make it to novel length. We shall see about that one. It was inspired by the Donner Party, but is NOT the Donner Party. In fact, it includes a rather terrifying supernatural element. The opening scene is one of the scariest things I have ever written and even scared the heck out of me.

I have another novel called The Given which is sitting in my queue to be rewritten and edited. It involves cults and a former soldier who likes to make his own knives and axes. It's a thriller and a suspense novel about a man who suddenly finds himself getting telepathic messages from a young woman he believes might be the daughter he gave up for adoption years ago. Not sure if that will make it out in 2023, but I think it might. I might also just publish that one under my own label.

One of my new years resolutions is to try and update this blog more regularly and provide some articles you might want to read. I have to do a better job of keeping this website up to date as well. We shall see how long this resolution can last, but I hope we can all connect her regularly and you will visit back often.

That's it for now. I hope you had a fantastic holiday and are looking forward to a new year!
