Lots of authors are angry about ChatGPT. I do not want entire books written by AI. I think that is cheating. Sorry. But, I have at times used it for things. For example, I recently used it because I had a germ of an idea in my head, but could not figure out a story. I asked ChatGPT to give me 10 story prompts based on the idea. One of them jumped out at me and I was able to turn it into a short story. Sometimes I have used it to come up with ideas for blogs, or titles, or blog titles. AI is a tool, and it all depends on how you use it.
But today, let's play with it a bit. What would ChatGPT say about me? Let's sew what the AI creator gets right and what it gets very, very wrong.
CHATGPT CONTENT STARTS HERE:
Why More Horror Fans Should Know About Bryan Alaspa
Horror fiction is a genre filled with household names—Stephen King, Clive Barker, Shirley Jackson—but some of the best horror writers out there don’t get nearly enough attention. One such writer is Bryan Alaspa, an author who has quietly built an impressive body of work filled with chilling, thought-provoking, and utterly gripping horror stories. If you love horror but haven’t yet explored Alaspa’s works, here’s why you absolutely should.
A Prolific Horror Author with a Unique Voice
Bryan Alaspa is not just a writer; he is a storyteller who delves into multiple genres, but his horror fiction stands out for its ability to unsettle and surprise. He has written everything from supernatural horror to psychological thrillers, with each story packed with eerie atmospheres, compelling characters, and a creeping sense of dread that lingers long after you’ve turned the last page.
Unlike many horror authors who stick to a particular style or theme, Alaspa explores a wide range of horror subgenres. His books feature ghosts, cosmic horror, serial killers, alternate realities, and even psychological terror—ensuring that there’s something for every type of horror fan.
Some Must-Read Works from Bryan Alaspa
If you’re new to Alaspa’s work, here are a few books that showcase his incredible range as a horror author:
The Man from Taured
One of Alaspa’s best-known novels, The Man from Taured, blends horror, psychological suspense, and alternate reality theories to craft a mind-bending tale. Inspired by a real-life urban legend about a mysterious traveler who allegedly appeared in an airport with no discernible home country, the book takes this eerie premise and transforms it into a disturbing and deeply unsettling horror story. (This is fairly accurate. Not entirely, but close enough)
RIG
For those who enjoy deep-sea horror and claustrophobic terror, RIG is an absolute must-read. Set on an isolated oil rig where something ancient and horrifying has been unearthed, this novel taps into cosmic horror and Lovecraftian themes while delivering non-stop tension and dread. (Also pretty accurate)
Sapphire
In Sapphire, Alaspa takes on the haunted house trope but adds his own unique spin. This is not just a ghost story—it’s a deep, psychological horror novel that explores trauma, grief, and the terrifying power of the unknown. (Not even close. Sapphire is a vanishing hitchhiker story. A YA novel and also a bit of a love story and mystery)
Sin-Eater
For fans of supernatural horror mixed with psychological elements, Sin-Eater offers a disturbing look at a small town hiding dark secrets and an entity that feeds on human sins. This book perfectly balances folklore horror with modern psychological dread. (The most egregious one yet! No. Sin-Eater is about a man with the power to absorb sins of the recently deceased into himself. It's actually a series I have yet to complete.)
What Makes Bryan Alaspa’s Horror Stand Out?
Deep Psychological Horror – Unlike many horror writers who focus purely on gore or supernatural scares, Alaspa often delves into the psychological impact of fear, making his stories more haunting and personal. (I try)
Unpredictability – Many horror novels follow a familiar structure, but Alaspa frequently subverts expectations. His books are full of twists and eerie developments that keep readers on edge. (Um, sure)
Atmospheric and Immersive Storytelling – One of Alaspa’s greatest strengths is his ability to create immersive, eerie settings. Whether it’s an isolated oil rig, a haunted mansion, or an alternate reality bleeding into our own, his worlds feel alive and suffused with dread.
A Wide Range of Horror Themes – From psychological terror to cosmic horror, Alaspa isn’t afraid to explore different subgenres, making him an exciting author for horror fans who want variety.
Why More People Should Be Reading Bryan Alaspa
Despite his prolific output and talent for writing truly terrifying stories, Bryan Alaspa remains relatively under the radar in the horror community. This is a shame because his books stand toe-to-toe with some of the best modern horror fiction out there. If you’re tired of the same mainstream horror recommendations and want to discover something fresh, Alaspa’s novels are well worth exploring. (Sadly, this is true. I am so far under the radar my ass scrapes the ground)
Whether you love supernatural horror, psychological dread, or stories that blur the lines between reality and nightmare, Bryan Alaspa delivers. Horror fans looking for their next terrifying read should absolutely put his books at the top of their list.
So, if you’re a horror enthusiast and haven’t yet read Alaspa’s work, now is the perfect time to dive in—you might just find your next favorite horror author.
CHATGPT ENDS
So, there you go. It's interesting what it found, but also interesting how much it got wrong. I know that AI will get better and probably already there is a tool that can get this 100% accurate.
Well, that was fun. Thanks for playing with me.
