Social media reminder - come join the party

Hey there, regular readers and fans and whatever. My people! How are you? Great. Look, I know there is a lot going on and things are super-busy here, too. I have a new book coming out on Oct 23 in my continuing attempt to have a new horror or thriller out come every Halloween. So far, so good. This year, it's When the Night Comes Out which is my truly horrifying collection of horror short stories. I am very proud of the book.

OK, that's out of the way.

I am writing this today because I have come to realize it's a little hard to figure out my various social media platforms from this website. You kind of have to hunt around to find the links and most of this site is promotion of my books and links to them.

I don't have the world's biggest fan base, but I have a very good and devoted one. I am grateful for anyone who considers themselves a fan. It means a lot. The people who are fans, tend to find me on my social media platforms and they are vocal and conversational and they are great places to meet up with them.

So, I wanted to give a quick list of the social media pages I have and provide links. Feel free to choose your favorite and follow along.

1. Facebook - probably the granddaddy of them all. I don't get to post here nearly as much as I'd like, but it's a good platforms. I make regular announcements on upcoming work there and make release announcements. It's easy to leave comments and I am pretty responsive, too.

2. Twitter - my biggest platform. I try to keep this one about writing and my writing. I tweet and re-tweet inspirational stuff about writing. I also make sure to get a lot of stuff out there about new work and links to my latest stuff. It's my largest group of followers and probably my biggest marketing tool.

3. Instagram - this is probably my newest one. I was reluctant to get involved with this one since you can't put links in comments and captions, just in the bio. However, I have gotten to really find this one sort of fun. I like taking photos with the phone. I like finding inspirational stuff to post. Don't come here looking for a lot of selfies. I don't want to look at myself and I am betting you don't want to look at me, either. But I post about books, nature photographs, weather photographs, motivational stuff, cover reveals. It's fun

4. Goodreads - I'm there, too. Never got Goodreads, to be honest, and why it's supposed to be such a great thing for us authors. I find it hard to navigate and hard to socialize. I find it hard to post on the group forums. However, I am there. Feel free to be my friend.

That's it! My most active are Twitter and Instagram these days. I try to get out to Facebook often, but I sometimes kind of forget about that page for a time. I hope to come there and follow or fan-up. I look forward to chatting with you!
