So, guys, let me tell ya, this has been in the works for months and we finally reached a point where all involved said: Hell yeah, let's announce it. It is a dream come true. The first time works of mine have been produced in any sort of format other than ebook, paperback and audiobook.
When the Night Comes Out: The Podcast!
Coming May 2019 (we hope) and produced/distributed by SafetyNet Studio. Featuring the amazing voice of Allie James (narrator of my When the Night Comes Out audiobook) and Winnipeg's legendary radio personality Dave Wheeler. Other voices, too.
My dear, dear friend Candace Rae (also Dave's wife) started her own podcast network and I am THRILLED beyond all measure she has agreed to work with me to produce this podcast.
So - what will it be? Why is it a big deal?
Well, growing up, The Twilight Zone and The Outer Limits were huge influences on me. My dad was a bit fan of Zone and he got me watching them. So, this is kind of like that. An anthology series of creepy, scary, weird stories written by me and read by Allie, Dave and others.
Season 1 will be out in May. I have already written 1 story for season 2 and will work to get more of that written throughout 2019.
When I was a kid, one of the things I loved was radio dramas. I had a cassette of War of the Worlds and loved listening to Orson Welles as The Shadow. I loved how radio dramas told great stories and left most of what happened up to my imagination. I used to tell people, I was born in the wrong time. I should have been born in the 20s or 30s so I could have been a radio play writer.
Well, now SafetyNet Studio has helped make that dream come true. Thanks to podcasting, fictional audio plays are back and I am SOOO EXCITED to be bringing stories to you in this way. I am positively vibrating about it.
So, it's in production. Some paperwork needs to be signed and there's a lot of work to go...but it's in the works and we are targeting May or perhaps late spring/early summer.
I will post more, of course, when the shows are ready. Please, click on the link to SafetyNet and check out the great shows they already have. Good people, great shows, check 'em out!
Bryan Alaspa's new book is called The Revisionists and it's a techno-thriller about changing history and altering reality - and the damage such a thing would do to today and the future. Pre-order it for Kindle for just 99 cents at THIS LINK or click on the cover image below.
